NBA Handicappers

Finding good, reputable NBA handicappers can be a daunting task. It seems everywhere you look on the internet, somebody is trying to sell you their picks...no matter if they win or lose.

Selling sports picks is a multimillion dollar industry. However, it's a very unregulated industry where anybody can sell their own picks and make up their own record...and believe me, there's a lot of people that do.

As much as I hate to admit it, the sports handicapping industry isn't exactly the most ethical. If there's money to be made on people's emotions, then you can guarantee there will be plenty of scam artists ready to pounce.

It's really to bad that reputable NBA handicappers have basically been given a bad name because of the scam artists that our out there trying to rip people off. I know it's reality, but it's just upsetting to see.

Most people that enjoy betting on sports don't have the time to do all of the research them self so they'll turn to a professional for help...not any different than someone looking for a investment adviser, tax adviser, attorney...etc.

The difficult part though is separating the ethical, winning NBA handicappers from the ones who are simply trying to take your money (I don't mean to sound harsh, but believe me, it's a dog eat dog world).

What I'd like to do here is go over some of my personal criteria that I use in researching NBA handicappers, as well as a few of my personal recommendations. Due diligence is the key and you must perform your own before ever giving someone your hard earned cash.

Obviously, they must show a long term track record of winning...that goes without saying. However, I believe there's so much more than that. You don't want to follow someone blindly without them giving you some reasoning as to why they're picking who they're picking.

They may have no idea what they're talking about and just throwing darts. Trust me, it's not to much to ask a professional handicapper to give you a write up on each game as to why they like it.

Another extremely important factor is to make sure they eat their own cooking. In other words, you better be damned well sure that the handicapper is betting the picks right alongside the clients. If not, then go somewhere else.

If they don't even trust their own picks to put money on it them self, then why the hell should you. It's absolutely crucial that they have some "skin" in the game. Trust me, handicappers who bet their own picks right along with their clients have a much better track record...what a coincidence, huh?

As I said before though, looking for a handicapper is really no different than searching for an investment adviser, dentist, or CPA. It just takes some time and due diligence on your part.
