Sports Betting Books

Bet at 5Dimes

Finding good, quality sports betting books can be a difficult task sometimes. There certainly are many to choose from, but how do you know which ones are worth your time (really not much different than when your looking for quality sports betting advice websites, betting services, sportsbooks, etc).

I think you see the point I'm trying to make. When it comes to sports betting, it's tough to know who to trust and where to find quality information. Not that we're biased, but we feel Sports Betting Insights should be your number one stop for quality and reputable sports handicapping advice.

We've already reviewed some of our favorite sports betting software, handicapping services, sportsbooks...etc, so now it's time to take a look and review some of our favorite sports betting books. There are many to choose from, some better than others.

Many are geared towards the beginning to novice handicappers, while a few are more for the full time handicapper that already has a very good grasp of sports handicapping (much more numbers/statistical based).

We'll start with some of the more popular books that were written to give the reader various ideas and concepts of how sports betting works. We'll eventually get into a few of the more advanced sports betting books once you have a better idea of the basics.

The Benefits of Quality Sports Betting Books

Just as we feel Sports Betting Insights can be a huge stepping stone to becoming a better handicapper, a good quality sports betting book can be a great supplement as well.

So many sports bettors don't take any time to learn the craft and typically just start firing bets away...we we're probably all there at one point, I know that's how I started. While sometimes it's a good idea to jump into things, I personally feel sports betting isn't one of them.

As we've stressed so many times throughout the site, you must develop some sort of philosophy or strategy before ever placing a bet...much easier said than done. Just as with starting a new business, it's takes a lot of prep work, research, education, etc.

Well, handicapping and betting on sports is the same way. If you're just doing it for recreation, then that's one thing (although I still think you should at least read a book or two), but if you're serious about it as an investment, then you have to put in the time and learn as much as you can.

Getting ideas and finding out your own strategy/philosophy is what's going to make you successful. The more you learn the better off you're going to be...and what better way to learn than by reading some good, quality sports betting books.

All books aren't created equal. Some are basically worthless, while others can really open your eyes. Now you're not going to agree with everything that's written and you might not get much out of the concepts presented either.

And that's perfectly normal. It's up to you to figure out what can help with your own handicapping and then build upon it. You'll find some books that you think are invaluable, while others you might think are rubbish.

So, to make it a little easier on you, we've narrowed it down to some of our favorites and what we think are good additions to any sports handicappers library. Simply click on the each link below to read our full review.

So there you have it. Our list of recommended sports betting books. None of them are going to reveal to you their best strategies, nor are they going to discuss "get rich quick" schemes.

However, they will give you plenty of ideas so that you can create and develop your own proprietary strategies for handicapping and betting sports. A lot of beginners think that's there's some kind of top secret formula to winning...where you just hit a button on your computer and it'll tell you the winners for the day.

Well there isn't. The top secret formula is hard work and dedication. As with anybody that is successful in their field of expertise, they got there from hard work and putting in more time than their competitors. Well guess what...that's exactly how you're going to become successful at betting on sports.

Sports betting books can be a very big help at educating you, but it's still up to you to develop and implement your own strategy and concepts. It's not easy, but it can be done. As always, best of luck in all your sports betting endeavors.
